How to Paint on Clear Glass
Whether you want to create an interesting look for the windows inside your home or are painting a small area of clear glass, doing so is relatively easy. You can paint any glass surface you wish--from vases to window panes to ornamental objects, the opportunities are endless. And, because this do-it-yourself project is simple one, you can also include children and make a day's activity out of it.

Instructions

1
Wash the glass surface with either window cleaner or rubbing alcohol. This creates a clean, smooth surface that the paint will adhere to. Allow the clear glass to dry completely.
-
2
Outline the design you plan to paint on your clear glass, using a grease pencil. Use a stencil to help guide you or free-hand it.
-
-
3
Paint your clear glass with a paintbrush. You can also use a sponge or other materials to create different textures on the surface. Wait for the paint to dry at least 24 to 48 hours.
-
4
Repaint the surface if the paint is too transparent for your liking. Wait for it to dry.
-
5
Apply a spray finish over your clear glass to keep the paint intact.
