You can watch movies from your computer on your TV.

The Internet is full of a huge variety of videos and movies to watch on demand. But whether you are watching videos from online, your hard drive or your computer's Blu Ray or DVD player, you can also see these movies on TV. If you have a large screen TV and want to take advantage of it by watching movies that were previously limited to your computer, it's fairly simple.

Instructions

    • 1

Install a video card that has a video out connection. Most plain video cards only have one output, and that's to your computer's monitor. You can buy a video card that has other output options or you can get a cable that splits the monitor's signal, and then get a cable that converts from a monitor connection to another cable type such as coaxial or RCA for input into your TV or video system.

    • 2

Connect the cable from the monitor to a matching video in connection on the back of your TV, or your DVD player if it is connected to your TV.

    • 3

Start the movie on your computer and make it full screen. What you see on your computer is exactly what you will see on your TV. Make sure your TV is set to show the input from wherever the cable is connected.
