How to Put a PCMCIA Card Into an Express Card Slot
An ExpressCard and a PCMCIA card on a laptop work in similar ways. Both provide expansion of components for the laptop such as wireless cards or other interfaces. The ExpressCard, however, is not as wide as the PCMCIA card, and thus inserting a PCMCIA card into an ExpressCard slot is not possible unless you use an adapter.

Insert the PCMCIA to ExpressCard adapter into the ExpressCard slot on the side of the laptop.

Follow the prompts onscreen to install the driver. The hardware driver installation screen automatically pops up when the adapter is inserted.

Insert the PCMCIA card into the adapter.
