How Do You Charge the Battery of an iPod Shuffle?

IPod earphones will work with your Shuffle.

The Shuffle is one type of Apple iPod. There are several different versions (called "generations") of the iPod Shuffle. Regardless of which iPod Shuffle you own, the device will need to be charged on occasion. An iPod Shuffle can be charged using either a computer that is turned on or an electrical iPod charger.

Instructions

Using computer

1. Connect the included USB cable to your iPod Shuffle.

2. Plug the opposite end of the iPod Shuffle cable into an open USB port on your computer, which must be turned on.

3. Check the light on the iPod Shuffle. If the light has turned on, the iPod Shuffle is properly charging.

Using iPod charger

1. Plug the iPod charger into a working electrical outlet.

2. Connect the included USB cable to your iPod Shuffle.

3. Plug the opposite end of the iPod Shuffle cable into the USB port on the iPod charger. The iPod Shuffle should begin charging immediately.

Tips & Warnings

• If the iPod Shuffle has a USB connection attached to the bottom of the device (such as with the first-generation Shuffle), no cable is needed. Plug the iPod Shuffle directly into either a USB port found on the computer or electrical iPod charger in order to charge the device.

• If you use a computer to charge the iPod Shuffle, the computer must remain on without entering "sleep mode" for the Shuffle to keep charging.
