How to Hit an Odyssey Putter in the Sweet Spot
While you can certainly make your fellow golfers' jaws drop with an epic drive, your golf game lives and dies on the putting green. Learning how to consistently hit the "sweet spot" on your putter will improve your putting and your overall golf game. Odyssey putters have the sweet spot marked on the face of the club. However, you should test your Odyssey putter to determine if the marking is the true sweet spot or if it is, in fact, slightly up or down the club. Once you locate the true spot, practice hitting the ball on that spot.

1
Find the "default" sweet spot on your Odyssey putter by looking at the face and finding the target located on the club. Odyssey makes many different putters; each model has the "default" sweet spot marked with a circle on the club.
-
2
Hold your Odyssey putter in the palm of your hand so that it is dangling halfway up the shaft. Take a tee and tap the default Odyssey sweet spot. Note whether the toe and the heel of the club swing in perfect sync. If the heel and the toe swing in perfect sync, the default spot on the putter is the true sweet spot. If not, continue to step 3.

3
Continue tapping the face of the club with the tee until the toe and the heel move in unison (meaning that neither the toe nor the heel of the club is twisting and swinging farther back than the other).
-
4
Use a black permanent marker and mark the spot on your Odyssey putter where the toe and the heel of the club swing together when tapped with a tee.
-
5
Line the putter up behind the ball so that the center of the ball is in line with the sweet spot of the club. Swing the club in a pendulum motion (back and forth smoothly) and strike the ball with the sweet spot. Practice multiple putts until you are consistently hitting the sweet spot.
