How to Download Music From the Internet to a CD
Music can be downloaded from many Internet music stores. Two of the most popular online music providers are iTunes and Napster. Once you purchase and download songs from the Internet, you may then burn the tracks to a CD. iTunes tracks can be burned using iTunes. Other music tracks may be burned using a software program such as Windows Media Player.

Download Music From iTunes

Open your iTunes software. (To download and install iTunes, go to iTunes.com.)

Click on "iTunes Store."

Select "Sign In" and then hit the "Create New Account" button. You will then need to create an account, which will include entering in your credit card information. Once you have created your account, you will be redirected to the main page of the iTunes Store.

Select "Music" and browse through the top downloads. Or you can enter in an artist name or song name in the "Search Store" field at the top of the iTunes window.

Select "Buy Song" or "Buy Album" next to the selection you want to download. The song will then download to your iTunes Library.
Burn a CD From iTunes

Load your blank CD disc into the CD drive on your computer.

Open iTunes.

Select the "File" menu and then select "New Playlist." You can then name the playlist if you prefer.

Go back to the iTunes Library and select the "Music" tab underneath it. Locate the songs you want to transfer to CD in the main window. Right-click on the tune, select "Add to Playlist" from the drop-down menu and select the playlist you just created from the playlist options.

Click on the playlist you just created once you have added all your songs. Click on "Burn to Disc" at the bottom of the iTunes window. Then hit "Burn." Your downloaded music will now burn to your CD.
Download Music From Napster

Go to Napster.com and click the "Sign Up" button. Create an account and select your membership plan. Then enter in your credit card account details.

Download the "Napster Software" when prompted after you created your account. Select "Save" in the pop-up window to save the installation file to your computer, then double-click on the installation icon to start and complete the installation.

Open the Napster software.

Search for music you want to download. You can select "Explore Napster" in the left pane of the software window and search songs by genre. You can also enter an artist's name in the "Artist" field at the top of software window and press the search icon.

Browse through the results and click on a music file you want to download. Then click "Buy" to download the file. Specify the folder on your computer you want to save the music file to when prompted. The song will then download to that destination.
Burn a CD With Windows Media Player

Insert a blank CD disc into your computer.

Open Windows Media Player and click on the "Library" tab.

Drag Napster or other downloaded music files from the directory into the Library.

Click on the "Burn" tab.

Drag music files listed in the Library from the Details pane in the middle of the window to your burn list on the right side of the Burn window. Then select "Start Burn." After it is finished, the CD will have the songs you selected on it and can be ejected from the computer.
