How to Change the Default Browser in a Blackberry

The BlackBerry is equipped to use a variety of Web browsers, so you have a choice as to how you want to gain access to the Internet. If you're like most people, you have a pet Internet browser on your computer, whether it's Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. You can also have a pet browser on your BlackBerry. Changing the default browser takes a few seconds, so you can get right to your Web surfing.

  • Go to the "Home" screen and select the "Options" icon.

  • Choose "Advanced Options."

  • Select "Browser."

  • Select a "Default browser configuration." The BlackBerry uses four types of browsers, including the normal Internet Browser, the BlackBerry Browser (for people who have email accounts on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that allows the use of this browser), the WAP browser, and the Hotspot Browser, which is used when you're connecting to a Wi-Fi hotspot (this probably won't ever be your default browser).

  • Press the "Menu" button and then choose "Save" to confirm your default browser.
