How to Get a Lot of Plays on Your MySpace Music Page

MySpace music pages are a way to get your music out to potential fans. You don't have to be on a major label or signed to a promotion company to get a lot of plays on your MySpace music page. With some changes to your page settings, regular promotion and potential friend-adding programs, you can get more than a lot of plays on your MySpace music page.

1. Set your songs to play automatically when a person visits your page. Click on the "Edit Profile" link at your MySpace page profile. On the next page, click on the "Manage Featured Songs" tab. In the "Song Settings" box, check the box next to the words "Automatically play the first song for visitors that are logged-in."

2. Download a friend adding bot program. These programs will automatically add MySpace friends based on search criteria you input. For example, if you think people who like Pink Floyd may like your music, you can use the friend-adding program to search for people who like Pink Floyd. The program will add these people as friends, leading to more plays on your MySpace music page.

3. Blog often. This will keep people interested in your band even if you don't have anything big going on. The longer you can keep your fans interested, the more likely they are likely to play your future music and tell their friends.

4. Post new music regularly. Your fans may love your new single, but even the best songs grow stale after a while. Update your songs as often as possible and rotate them. If you don't have the resources to record full-blown tracks, get out a microphone and record simple acoustic or vocal tracks to keep people interested.

5. Post comments often on your friends' MySpace pages. Alert them to new songs, upcoming shows, new T-shirt designs, etc.

6. Post links to your MySpace music page in forums and plaster your link all over stickers, fliers and any other band merchandise.
