Plastic Weaving Loom Instructions
Plastic weaving looms are portable and simple to use. They are ideal diversions for kids on a boring afternoon, and once you master the basics you can use them to weave potholders and hot pads all day long. Purchase a few craft loom loops and experiment with a wide variety of colors and patterns using a plastic weaving loom.

1
Take one weaving-loom loop and stretch it horizontally across the loom, hooking it on the top two pegs positioned horizontally across from one another. Repeat this step with other loops until all of the pegs have been filled in this direction.
-
2
Turn the weaving loom a quarter turn to the right, so the loops you stretched out over it are facing in a vertical direction instead of a horizontal one.
-
-
3
Hook a new loop over the top left empty peg on the loom, and weave it over and under each existing loop on the loom until you get to the other side. Hook it on the opposite peg.
-
4
Repeat for all of the other open pegs on the loom. Each time you weave, alternate whether you start with an over weave or an under weave.
-
5
When you have woven and used every peg, start at one corner and release a loop from its peg, holding it tightly to maintain its position. Call this loop "A." Now pick up the loop immediately next to it and call that loop "B." Pull loop A up and over loop B, so that loop B passes through the hole in loop A. Let go of loop A and hold onto B. Now pull "C" through B, D through C, and so on all around the outside edges of the pot holder.
-
6
Make a slip knot when you get to the last two loops. Leave the last remaining loop hanging out so you can hang the pot holder on a hook.
