Instructions

    • 1

Place fabric and lining with right sides together. Mark fabric width into three equal panels; cut.

    • 2

Stitch face fabric and lining together with 1/2-inch seams on all four sides. Leave a 6-inch opening. Turn and press.

    • 3

Measure the depth of the rod pocket and the heading from the upper edge of the panel, fold and press.

    • 4

      Stitch the rod pockets.

    • 5

If you want ruffles on the panel, attach the ruffle foot to your sewing machine and feed the lace fabric under the foot to gather evenly. This will give several yards of ruffled lace to add to the top panel.

    • 6

To determine the cascades, place fabric and lining right sides together. Determine the length at the short points by adding finished length of the swag, depth of the heading, depth of the pocket rod plus 1/2 inch for seam allowance.

    • 7

Mark from short point to lower edge of the outer side or longest point. Cut along marked line.

    • 8

With right sides together, stitch around all four sides, leaving 6 inches open. Turn and press.

    • 9

Measure combined depth of heading and rod pocket. Stitch rod pockets.

    • 10

Attach ruffled lace to diagonal sides of the cascades and across the bottom of the top panel. Press. Insert rods and hang.
