2000 Neon: Removal of the Power Steering Pump Pulley
The power steering pump pulley on the engine of the 2000 Dodge Neon is located on the front right (driver side) of the engine. The drive belt powers the power-steering pump pulley. If the power-steering pump needs to be repaired or replaced, then the power steering pump pulley needs to be removed in order to access the power steering pump, fluid reservoir and other power steering pump components. This is a simple job and will take you about five minutes.

1
Open the 2000 Dodge Neon's hood. Locate the power steering pump pulley in front of the power steering pump. Locate the drive belt connected to the pulley. Locate the securing nut in the center of the pulley.

Place the securing nut in the center of the power steering pump pulley into the locking hole in the center of the engine pulley removal tool. Twist the tightening screw on the pulley tool until it is secured to the pulley's securing nut.

3
Connect the power drill to the engine pulley tool. Insert the bolt on the back of the pulley tool into the tip of the power drill. Tighten the power drill's tip using the key that came with the power drill.
-
4
Pull the trigger on the power drill to loosen the pulley's securing nut. As the securing nut loosens, the drive belt will get slack in it. Pull the drive belt off of the power steering pump pulley. Completely remove the pulley's securing nut and pull the power steering pump pulley off of the front of the engine.
