How to Make Your Own Christening Centerpiece
After the birth of a baby, the parents of the child often bring the child to church to be christened or baptized. Usually done in Catholic and Protestant churches, the christening ceremony symbolically brings the child before Christ for baptism and gives the child his name, according to Christening Essentials. After the ceremony at church, most families throw a christening open house or brunch to celebrate. Decorating for the christening party should be simple and honor the occasion. 1
Set up a work space with plenty of flat surface area to work and gather all the things you'll need.
-
2
Use a picture frame as the showpiece of the centerpiece. Put the picture of the baby in the picture frame. Use a white, silver or light colored picture frame to help keep the centerpiece simple. If possible, take a picture of the baby in his christening gown to use in the picture frame. The picture frame will serve as the showcase of the centerpiece, honoring the baby and his special day.

A silver tray will work if a mirror is not available. Place the picture frame on a 12 inch square mirror. If you do not have a mirror, a flat, silver serving dish or plate will work fine.
-
4
White roses are often used for christening arrangements. Arrange a silver, white or light-colored vase behind the picture frame. The vase should be taller than the frame. Central Flower Shop suggests using white carnations, roses, daisies or a combination in the vase, as those flowers are often used for christenings.

5
White candles add ambience to the centerpiece. Place a white or silver candle in front of the picture frame. You can put the candle in a decorative candle holder if you have one that matches the frame and vase. Keep the candle small so it does not block the picture.
-
6
Confetti adds a decorative touch. Spread baby's breath and white or silver confetti over the rest of the mirror or tray to finish the centerpiece.
