How to Convert MOV to MPEG With Freeware

Freeware is software that is both free to download and to use. Freeware, however, should not be confused with shareware. Shareware is free to download, but you must eventually pay to use it. If you want to convert MOV files, which are the native file format for Apple computers, to MPEG files, there are several freeware solutions.

Instructions

MOV to MPEG Converter

1. Turn on your computer and open your Web browser. Download and install MOV to MPEG Converter. See "Resources" for a link to download this application.

2. Launch the application and import a MOV file by clicking the "Plus" icon on the right side of the application. Select the file from your computer.

3. Select an output folder by clicking the icon that has three periods on it. Choose a location on your hard drive where you want to save the converted file.

4. Click the "Convert" button and the file is converted from MOV to MPEG.

Pazera Free MOV to AVI Converter

1. Turn on your computer and open your Web browser. Download and install Pazera Free MOV to AVI Converter. Even though the application indicates that it is a MOV to AVI converter, this application also supports MOV to MPEG conversions. See "Resources" for a link to download this application.

2. Launch the application and import your MOV file by clicking the "Add Files" button in the top left corner of the application. Select the MOV file from your computer.

3. Choose an output directory by clicking the "Browse" button under "Output Directory."

4. Select an output format. Click the "MPEG" option in the lower left corner of the application.

5. Click the "Convert" button at the top of the application to convert the file from MOV to MPEG.

Any Video Converter

1. Turn on your computer and open your Web browser. Download and install Any Video Converter. See "Resources" for a link to download this application.

2. Launch Any Video Converter and import your MOV file by clicking the "Add Video" button on the top left corner of the application.

3. Click the "Profile" drop-down menu on the top right corner of the application and select "MPEG."

4. Click the "Encode" button at the top of the application and the source file is converted into an MPEG.
