How Do I Program My Dish Remote to Work With My RCA Tv?

Save

Dish Network supplies satellite television service across America. To view satellite television, you must have a Dish Network satellite receiver connected to your TV. This receiver comes with a remote control, which may add to your growing collection of remote controls. Instead of using two remotes to control your satellite receiver and your RCA TV, you can program your Dish Network remote to control your TV. This can be done in two distinct ways, including an automatic scan and manually entering the TV code.

Automatic Scan

  • Turn on your RCA TV. You'll need to have the TV on to program your Dish remote.

  • Press and hold down the "TV" button located at the top of the remote for 3 seconds. The "TV" button should blink.

  • Press the "Power" button at the very top of the remote control.

  • Press the "Up" arrow on the remote control until the device turns off.

  • Press the "#" button on the remote's keypad immediately after the device turns off. This stores the code in your remote control.

  • Press the "Power" button and the Dish Network remote turns on your RCA TV.

Manually Enter Code

  • Turn on your RCA TV. You'll need to have the TV on to program your Dish remote.

  • Look up your device's code in the user manual that came with your remote control. If you no longer have this manual, see "Resources" for a link to device codes. There are over 30 codes for RCA TVs, but the two most prevalent codes are "503" and "742."

  • Press and hold down the "TV" button located at the top of the remote for 3 seconds. The "TV" button should blink.

  • Enter "503" using the remote control and then press the "#" key. If the "TV" button flashes 3 times, you've entered the correct code. If you received no response, go back to step 3 and try using the code "702." If this doesn't work either, continue trying through the list of codes.

  • Press the "Power" button on the remote after you've entered the correct code and the RCA TV turns off.
