How to Convert a Word Document Into a TIF File
You can easily convert a Microsoft Word document to a TIFF image file with the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer print driver, which is included with all versions of Microsoft Office. TIFF, often abbreviated as TIF, stands for Tagged Image File Format. When converted to a TIF file, Word documents become image files instead of word-processing documents.

Tips & Warnings
If you purchased Microsoft Word separately and the driver isn't installed on your computer, you'll need to download a document conversion utility, such as Universal Document Converter or OmniFormat to convert the Word document to a TIF file. The directions vary slightly between these utilities.
