The Epson Stylus C40UX is a color printer that is able to print images on photo paper. If you have been using your printer frequently, the ink cartridge indicator light may begin flashing, indicating that it is time to change your printer's ink. Changing the ink cartridge in the Epson Stylus C40UX should only take a few moments.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open the top of the printer by lifting up the plastic tab on the front of the printer. Press the ink maintenance button. This button has a drop icon next to a sheet of paper. The print head will move to the center of the printer.

      If you do not need to change the black ink cartridge, proceed to Step 3. Open the black ink cartridge clamp by pulling it up. Pull the ink cartridge out of the print head. Pull the protective tape off of the bottom of the ink cartridge and slide the new black ink cartridge into the print head. Pull the print clamp down over the ink cartridge.

      Press the ink cartridge maintenance button. The print head will move into the color ink-changing position. Pull the print head clamp up and pull out the color cartridge. Replace the color ink cartridge after you have removed the security tape and pull down the clamp over the ink cartridge.

      Press the ink cartridge maintenance button. The ink cartridges will go back into their default position. Pull the hood on top of the printer down to complete the installation.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Epson C40UX takes T013201black ink cartridges and T01420 color ink cartridges. Be sure to only install these ink cartridges, as attempting to install other cartridges can cause malfunction.
