Instructions

    • 1

Begin by cutting both pieces of fleece to the exact same size with sharp fabric scissors. All corners should match perfectly. Put the two pieces together with the wrong sides in and the right sides out.

    • 2

Lay the sandwiched fabrics on a large, flat work surface. A clean floor usually works the best. Using your sharp fabric scissors, make three-inch cuts along the edges of the sandwiched fabrics. The cuts should be around one inch apart. Make sure that you are cutting through both fabrics at the same time. This will ensure that the fabrics will fit together perfectly when they are joined. Complete all four sides. You should end up with several one-inch separate sections around the perimeter of the fabrics.

    • 3

Take one cut strip from one piece of fabric and knot it twice to its corresponding strip on the other piece of fabric. Use a length of yarn and tie it into a knot between the two fleece knots leaving the yarn ends dangling. The yarn will give the blanket some extra frill and whimsy. Continue tying around all sides of the blanket, adding yarn as you go and soon you will have completed a fleece blanket made with yarn.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ribbon may also be added with the yarn when tying the second knot to add extra frill.
