Instructions

1
Place a piece of dye-free white paper on your ironing board. You'll want to make sure the paper is big enough to cover the entire area of the transfer.
-
2
Dampen the area of your shirt where the iron on transfer is with a damp cloth. You want to wet the area so that it is damp, but not dripping with water.
-
-
3
Lay your shirt flat over the piece of paper, so that the area with the iron on transfer is against the piece of paper on your ironing board.
-
4
Set your iron to a high setting, without steam, and allow it to heat up completely.
-
5
Iron the back of your shirt firmly, but gently, so as not to cause any ripples or movement of the paper under your shirt. Do this for a few minutes, constantly moving your iron so as not to burn your garment.
-
6
Lift your shirt and check to see if it has adhered to the paper. If not, iron for another couple of minutes.
-
7
Lift your shirt back up. At this point your iron on should have transferred to the paper. Gently peel off the piece of paper. If your iron on has not transferred to the piece of paper yet you may need to continue with the previous steps.
-
8
Soak your shirt in a bit of warm water and baking soda to help loosen the last little bits, if there are any small bits of iron on still left on your shirt. Then gently pick them off with your fingers.
