Connect your notebook to an amp.

A notebook computer is a smaller laptop computer that usually has the same features as a standard laptop minus the screen and keyboard size, and the laptop weight. However, the built in speakers for the notebook computer are small and don't provide much sound quality. To increase the sound output of your notebook, connect it to an amplifier and speaker system.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the 3.5mm end of the cable into the "Line-out" port of the notebook. This is the same port your audio headphones typically use.

    • 2

Plug the 1/4-inch side of the cable into the "Line-in" port on your amp. You can purchase this kind of cable from most electronics and audio stores.

    • 3

Power on the notebook and the amp.

    • 4

Double-click the audio icon in the lower right corner of your computer desktop. Use the slider to turn this audio up all the way. This gives all the audio controlling power to the amp. Adjust the volume for your amp and speakers through the audio control knob on the audio system.
