How to Monitor My Child's Internet Activity

Keep your children safe while on the Internet.

With all the dangers of the Internet today it is important to monitor your child's browsing activity. Although it is possible to simply look up the browsing history on the Web browser, your child could delete this information. Due to this, you may want to think about purchasing a special program designed to monitor all Internet actions. Many programs even take screen shots so you can see exactly what your child is seeing.

Instructions

1. Purchase a program such as SpectoSoft, WebWatcher or eBlaster. All three allow you to monitor the Internet and can be purchased both online and in stores.

2. Install the software onto your computer through the program installation CD. Once installed launch the software and create your account. With the account you type in your user name, password and occasionally an email address (to be notified of updates).

3. Log on to your account after your child has finished browsing the Internet. You will be able to see not only what sites he has visited but also the keystrokes performed while instant messaging.

4. Check your child's activity as often as you can. As long as she does not know your user name and password for the monitoring software, she cannot log on to the account and remove the information.
