How to Create My Own MSN Icon
MSN Messenger allows each user to upload a digital image file that represents themselves to the people they communicate with. You can choose from a number of icons that are pre-loaded into the MSN Messenger software, or you can elect to create your own from scratch. If you want to create your own you can use a program called MS Paint, which allows you to create digital image files on your computer.

Type the dimensions "50 pixels x 50 pixels" into the "Dimensions" portion of the window on screen. This will create a new blank template that is 50 pixels tall by 50 pixels wide, which is the ideal size for an MSN Messenger icon.

Use the blank template on screen to create your new MSN Messenger icon. You can use the toolbar on the top of the screen to design an image yourself, or you can find images on websites using tools like Google Image Search or the Yahoo! Search and paste them into the template.

5
Click "File" and then "Save As." Give your new image a name and click "Save." You will be left with a computer image file that is exactly as you designed it, which can then be used as your MSN Messenger icon.

Click on the "Tools" menu in MSN Messenger. Click on the "Options" menu option, and then click on the "Personal" tab. This will take you to the screen you need to view to change your MSN Messenger icon.

Click on "Edit Profile," followed by "Web Appearance." Click the "Browse" button and select the MSN Messenger icon you created on your computer. Click the "Save" button to save your changes. Your newly created MSN Messenger icon will now be the main icon on your account.
