How to Clean a Wool Persian Rug
A wool Persian rug is an elegant, expensive item that adds quality and eye appeal to any room. The rug, when maintained properly, will withstand years of wear and tear without deteriorating in quality or appearance. Since you can't toss these rugs in the washing machine and dryer as with most small throw rugs, you need to find an alternate cleaning routine that will clean the rug effectively. Things You'll Need
- Vacuum
- Cold water
- Mild laundry detergent
- Soft brush with long hair
- White vinegar
- Bowl
- Paper towels

Vacuum the rug regularly, running the vacuum along the pile of the rug.

Pour 3 cups of tepid water into a bowl with 2 tbsp. of mild laundry detergent.

Dip a soft, long-haired brush into the soapy solution, and scrub over the rug, following the grain of the pile.

Blot spills as they occur, with paper towels. Saturate paper towels with the same soapy solution mentioned above, this time adding 1 cup of white vinegar, and blot over the stain. This will clean and disinfect the area without damaging the wool.
