How to Clean a Yellow Motorcycle Windshield

Motorcycle windshields may yellow over time due to the elements, age and smoke. In addition to appearing unattractive, yellow windshields can obscure your view. The film of dirt and grime may be tough to remove with window cleaner alone. Clean the motorcycle's windshield with dish soap and vinegar for a crystal-clear view.

Things You'll Need

• Baking soda
• Lint-free cloth
• Dish soap
• Sponge
• Bucket
• White vinegar
• Spray bottle

Instructions

1. Fill a bucket with warm water and a small amount of dish soap. Wipe the windshield with a wet sponge to remove any surface dirt. Rinse the sponge in the bucket, as it gets dirty.

2. Sprinkle a tablespoon or two of baking soda on the sponge. Scrub the windshield thoroughly, adding more baking soda if necessary. The mild abrasive action of baking soda will remove the film without scratching the surface.

3. Rinse out the sponge and use it to remove any baking soda residue from the windshield.

4. Add white vinegar to a spray bottle and apply to the windshield. Wipe with a dry, lint-free cloth. Repeat one more time for a streak-free shine.

Tips & Warnings

• Old pillowcases or newspapers work well for cleaning glass and avoiding streaks.
