How to Choose a Great-Fitting Bra for a Full Figure
If you are a D cup or larger, it is not easy finding a bra that fits, flatters and looks fabulous. Many women settle for a less-than-perfect fit, or choose function over fashion. You do not have to go that route. Choose a great-fitting bra for a fuller figure without sacrificing style.

1
Take a measuring tape around your rib cage directly below your bust line. Make sure the tape is straight and flat across your back and parallel to the floor. Pull it snug.
-
2
Record this measurement on a piece of paper. Round it to the closest whole number either up or down. If the number is even add 2 inches. If the number is odd, add 3 inches. This final number is your band size.

3
Stand with your arms at your side and measure around the fullest part of your bust line. If your nipples point south, take the measurement with one of your bras on.
-
4
Record this number. The difference between the two numbers determines your cup size. For example,
3-inch difference = C cup
4-inch difference = D cup
5-inch difference = DD cup, also known as an E cup
6-inch difference = DDD cup, also known as F cup, and so on.

Tips & Warnings
To test if the band of your bra fits properly, slip the straps off. Your bra should stay in place. 70 percent of the support should come from your band, not the straps.
Don't pinch pennies when choosing a bra for a fuller figure. Bras in larger sizes do cost more, but they are worth it. When it comes to bras, quality does count.
Ill-fitting bras can do more damage than just looking bad; they can create problems with your posture, cause discomfort in your shoulders and even lead to numbness in the arms caused by reduced circulation.
