How to Use a Friction Mount for a Garmin Nuvi

Use a Garmin friction mount for your Nuvi GPS.

The Garmin Nuvi GPS unit can be taken on the go or set up in your vehicle. Most units come with a window suction mount that attaches directly to your window while some have a sticky dashboard mount. These two options can leave permanent marks on your car, with a dark circle on your window or leftover adhesive on your dashboard. Use a friction mount to avoid damaging your car. The mount uses bean bags to hold it in place without damaging the dashboard.

Instructions

1. Place the friction mount bean bag on the center of your dashboard.

2. Snap the Nuvi unit into the plastic mount and set it on top of the bean bag mount.

3. Position the Nuvi at the angle you prefer for best visibility while driving.

4. Hold the mount in position and slide the switch to the "Lock" position.

5. Connect the cables to the Nuvi and you are done.
