You may be extremely careful when you dye your hair, by placing plastic tarp on the floor and wrapping towels around your neck, but hair dye still seems to get everywhere. Cleaning up hair dye from tile or painted walls is never too difficult, but cleaning the dye off carpet is a different story. If you spot the stain right away, however, you can remove it permanently. Things You'll Need

  • 3 clean white cloths
  • 1 tbsp. of liquid hand dishwashing detergent
  • 1 tbsp. of white vinegar
  • Bowl
  • Spoon

Instructions

      Soak a clean, white cloth in cold water. Put the cloth on the stain, and blot the area. Apply as much pressure as possible to the cloth while it's on the stain. Never rub the stained area.

      Pour 1 tbsp. of liquid dishwashing detergent, 1 tbsp. of white vinegar and 2 cups of warm water into a small bowl. Mix the solution together with a spoon.

      Saturate a new white cloth with the cleaning solution. Apply the solution to the stained area. Blot the area until the stain is gone.

      Pour cold water over the area. With another cloth, blot the cold water up from the carpet to ensure the stain is gone and the cleaning solution is cleaned up.
