MSN Messenger is the instant-messaging platform created by Microsoft in 1999. Now called Windows Live Messenger, the service allows more than 330 million users each month to chat, play games, and share images and video with friends and family around the world. One of the features offered by Windows Live Messenger is the ability to automatically save all your conversations in an archive. You can check your chat history if you need to retrieve information or if you simply want to relive a great conversation.
Open Windows Live Messenger and log in using your Windows Live ID and password.
Click "File" and select "View Message History." A list of the contacts with whom you have had conversations will be displayed.
Double click on a contact's name to view your chat history with that person. The conversation is displayed with the oldest messages at the top.
Tips & Warnings
- You can also view your chat history by right clicking on a contact's name and selecting "View," then selecting "Message History."
