How to Make Newspaper Cones

How to Make Newspaper Cones thumbnail
Use your old newspaper for crafts.

Newspaper can be reused for crafts instead of being sent to a recycling plant or landfill. Newspaper is a very thin and shape-able paper, so it is perfect for forming into shapes. Newspaper can be formed into a cone shape to make hats, or even disposable snack cups for popcorn or trail mix for kids. Try using your old newspapers before deciding to throw them out.

Instructions

    • 1

Unfold a sheet of newspaper completely.

    • 2

Pull the top two corners down toward the center of the page so they meet at the center and form a point at the top.

    • 3

Turn so the point is at the bottom. Roll and tighten into a cone shape. The unfolded corners of the newspaper should meet or slightly over lap.

    • 4

Carefully fold back the corners so the cone has an even lip. Fold again, tucking the points up into the fold. This will hold the cone in place.

    • 5

Tape along the seam (where the outside edge of the paper overlaps the outside of the cone) to more securely hold the cone together.
