How to Fix Trojan Viruses
Trojan viruses are extremely unfortunate. While not every one destroys your files, steals your identity and crashes your computer, getting rid of the threat on your computer should be a top priority. Some trojan viruses are easier to fix than others. Some require you to completely reinstall your operating system to ensure the virus is wiped out. There are a few steps you can take to fix your computer.

1
Run an antivirus scan. There are numerous free antivirus applications available for download (AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials, Panda Security) that will scan your system just as well as their paid counterparts. These scans look for malicious software and allow you to delete any detected viruses. This is the easiest and most practical solution for fixing a trojan virus on your computer.

Bring the computer to a computer shop. Some viruses do not like it when you attempt to run antivirus applications and will not play nice. They can run undetected or prevent you from running a system scan. If you've attempted to run antivirus software and still feel you have a virus, it's best to take it to a professional who can more carefully examine the situation for you and salvage your computer. This can be a bit more costly over simply running antivirus yourself, but if you aren't all that familiar with computers it may be worth the added cost.

Reformat your hard drive. A worst case scenario, you must reformat your hard drive. Some viruses are not worth the time and effort it takes to remove them and fix your files. In these cases, completely wiping the hard drive and reinstalling Windows will eliminate any and all threats on your computer. You will need to back up any important documents before hand. You will need your Windows installation disc to perform a clean installation over your current Windows installation. This is a last resort as it will erase everything on your computer.
