Cleaning brass on lamps is easy.

Many lamps contain brass bases which collect fingerprints, dust and other buildup during normal use. When the brass is cleaned and cared for properly, it will retain its appearance for many years. When it is cared for improperly and neglected, it will actually become an eyesore in the room, looking dull, tarnished and unattractive. • 3

Dip a cloth into the paste, and spread a thin layer of the paste onto the entire brass surface. Let the paste sit for 10 minutes.

    • 4

Moisten a cloth with water, and wipe off the paste.

    • 5

Buff the lamp dry with a clean cloth, which will restore the brass' shine and remove any remaining moisture.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your lamp is made of nonlacquered brass, use ketchup to clean it in addition to the paste. Use a dollop of ketchup on the base and wipe it clean with a rag.
