Instructions

    • 1

Cut a black disposable party plate in half. You can find these at party, discount and grocery stores. Buy sturdy plates that have more of a bowl edging along the sides; the shape will fit your head better. Set the other half aside to use later for the bat ears and nose-piece.

    • 2

Hold the paper plate half onto your face and use a white colored pencil or piece of chalk to draw circles in the areas where you will cut out eye holes.

    • 3

Cut out the eye holes with scissors.

    • 4

Cut a small triangle shape out of the remaining half of the plate to fit over your nose area, then cut out two larger triangle shapes to make the bat ears.

    • 5

Staple the bat ears onto opposite sides of the mask near the edges. Make sure the pointed ends are facing upward.

    • 6

Attach the smaller triangle to the nose area by stapling the pointed end to the bottom center bottom of the mask. Position the wider end of the triangle facing down and hanging below the mask.

    • 7

Bend the nose triangle on either side to cover the nose area.

    • 8

Cut a large rubber band in half and staple one end to each side of the mask. Make sure that it holds the mask firmly in place, but is not too tight. Trim the rubber band as needed. You can also use a ribbon.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you cannot locate a black plate, buy a sturdy white plate and color or paint it black
