How to Install a Graphic Driver for an HP Laptop
A graphics driver is a piece of software that tells your video card hardware how to function. HP, or Hewlett-Packard, is a PC manufacturer that my use a variety of different video cards in its laptop machines. HP offers a driver download service via its Web site to help users find the appropriate drivers for their machines, regardless of what video card model they need supported.

Use HP.com to find a graphics driver for your laptop

Type "www.HP.com" into your Web browser's address bar. Press "Enter" to load HP's Web site.

Click on the "Support & Drivers" tab along the top of the Web site. It written in large white text on a black background.

Click on the radio button for "Download drivers and software (firmware)" under the "Step 1" section.

Type your HP product name and model number into the blank field under "Step 2". For example you may type "TouchSmart IQ504" if that is your laptop model. Click "How do I find my product name/number?" link under the blank field if you need help locating the model number.

Click the "Go" button next to the text entry field under "Step 2". A new page will now load.

Click on the operating system you use on your laptop. For example, "Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)".

Locate the "graphics driver" from the list of drivers that appear. It may appear under the "Original Drivers" section of the table. It will be described with a specific manufacturer and model number, such as "Intel Graphics Driver." Click on the "Graphics Driver" link.

Click on the blue "Download" button near the top of the page under the "Download Options and Information" bar. A new dialogue box will appear.

Click the "Save to" option and choose "Desktop" from the left-hand column. Click "OK" button in the bottom right-hand column.

Navigate to your Desktop after the download is complete. Find the ".exe" file for your graphics drivers and double-click it. The installation process will begin.

Tips & Warnings
If you're not sure whether you're using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of your operating system, simply right-click on "My Computer" on the Desktop or in the "Start" menu. Select "Properties" from the context menu. The information will come up in a dialogue box, and found under the "Specifications" section.
