A schedule helps improve timelines.

Mac users can create a schedule using the iCal application included with the Mac OS X operating system. The iCal application features the ability to create separate calendars and determine which ones you view at a given time. You can create a daily, weekly or monthly schedule, with the option of a to do list on a side panel. Your iCal schedule can remain on your computer, or you can print it out.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the "Applications" folder and double-click on the "iCal" icon.

    • 2

Select whether you would like to make a schedule for a day, week or a month using the tabs on the top of the window. Any scheduling information you enter will also appear in the other tabs.

    • 3

Create a new calendar, if desired, by Control-clicking in the space under "Calendars." Enter a name and color for the calendar.

    • 4

Create a new event on your schedule by clicking on a day and dragging downward. Type a name for the event in the text box. You can adjust the length and placement of the event by moving it up or down. Set the calendar for the event by Control-clicking on the event, highlighting "Calendar" and selecting the appropriate name.

    • 5

Add a to do list to the schedule by going to the "View" menu and selecting "Show To Do List." Enter items in the list by clicking on the empty area in the right side of the window.

    • 6

Go to the "File" menu and select "Print" if you want a printed copy of your schedule. Select whether you want to print the day, week or month and enter the time range you want to print. Click "Continue" and click "Print" to send the schedule to your printer.
