Chain one and turn. Single crochet in each stitch across for a total of 24 single crochet stitches. Repeat this row until the length is the same measurement as the width, creating a square. Finish off and cut the yarn. This is one side of your pot holder.

Crochet another square the same way, crocheting the same amount of rows to create a square. Do not finish off or cut the yarn.

Place the two pot holder squares together, matching the edges. Chain one and turn. Insert the hook through the first single crochet stitch on the top square and through the first single crochet stitch on the bottom square. Crochet a single crochet stitch to attach the two squares together. Repeat in each stitch of the row.
