How to Back Up MSN Folders Stored on a Computer

MSN Explorer is an online service and program that lets you surf the Internet. If there are certain folders full of files in your MSN program then you can copy these files and save them in a zipped folder in order to back them up in a secure place that won't waste hard drive space.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click anywhere on your desktop. Select "Create zipped folder" from the drop-down menu options that appear.

    • 2

Open the MSN Explorer folder on your computer by clicking on the "Start" menu, and then selecting "My Computer." MSN Explorer is probably under "Program Files" on your hard drive.

    • 3

Right-click on a folder you want to backup. Select "Copy" from the drop-down menu that appears.

    • 4

Click-and-drag the extra copy of the folder to the zipped folder you created on your desktop. Copy any other folders you wish to copy and do the same thing. You now have a backup copy of those folders in a compressed format.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sue a program like Nero to burn your backup folders to a CD if you'd rather keep your backups on a disc.
