How Do I Put in a New Paper Roll Into Credit Card Machine?

Changing a credit card paper roll is relatively easy.

You are working the counter at a popular sandwich shop during lunch rush. You are handling hundreds of transactions and everything is running smoothly. Then the credit card machine beeps at you and indicates it's out of paper. A potential customer traffic jam is in the works, but don't panic. If your manager kept the credit card paper supply rolls in stock, switching a new paper roll into the machine will take less than a minute.

Instructions

1. Grab a new credit card paper roll and peel off the small strip of tape located at the beginning of the new credit card paper (the small strip keeps the paper from unravelling). Unroll the paper roll about one inch.

2. Press the "Open" or "Load paper" button on your credit card machine. The name and the location of this button will vary depending on the specific credit card machine, but it is typically located near the spot where the paper is dispensed. Some models will have a red light that turns on when the paper is empty. The button might be near that.

3. Take out the empty credit card paper roll and discard it. Place the new roll in the machine and hold on to the extra tab you pulled out in Step 1.

4. Feed the tab into the roller located near the open credit card paper roll bay. Think of it as if you were putting a dollar bill into a money machine.

5. Press the paper feed button. This button is typically located near the base of the credit card machine. It also might be located near the roller. The credit card machine will pull in the paper just like a printer would.

6. Close the credit card machine.
