How to Make a Dog Sling Pattern

One creative way pet owners can take their dog on outings and not worry about the dog running away or inconveniencing them while walking is a dog sling. Dog slings are quick to make once you create a pattern that will fit your size.

Things You'll Need

• Tape measure
• Pen
• Interfacing

Instructions

1. Measure the largest part of your chest with a tape measure. Multiply that number by 2.5. This is the total length for your dog sling.

2. Measure your dog from the top of its back to halfway down its legs. Multiply this number by two. This is the total width for the dog sling pattern.

3. Draw the dimensions on some interfacing, using a pen.

4. Measure one-fourth inch and one inch down the fabric. These are the hem specifications for the sling.
