1
Ask your parents or legal guardian for approval. Parental approval is required for anyone who wants to model while still a minor. Explain why you want to model so your parents understand the reality of your intentions. Write your thoughts down on a pad before you speak to them so you will not become overly emotional. Listen to the advice which they offer.

2
Hire a photographer. Choose a photographer that has experience in model photography. Have them create a portfolio of pictures you can use in your modelling career. Make sure the photographer takes a full array of pictures, including headshots and full-body shots. Be prepared to pay the fees associated with acquiring a professional photographer. If you must borrow the money from your parents, assure them you will pay it back.

Choose an agent that has years of experience representing teen models, who knows the fine points of the entire industry and who is willing to listen to your individual needs.

Search for a job. Go to local auditions and take your portfolio -- and your parents -- with you. Do not get discouraged when you are not chosen for a job. Remember this is a business and rejection is simply a part of the game. Keep in mind that a portion of your success is based on the number of auditions you attend.
