Recover your Eudora e-mail.

Eudora e-mail is a product of Microsoft, but it is an older program, so is most commonly found on computers running versions of Windows prior to XP. If your Eudora e-mail has disappeared, your computer might have been hacked or become infected with a virus that wiped out your e-mail. There are several things that you can do to recover your Eudora e-mails, address books and the entire e-mail program.

Instructions

    • 1

Run a virus protection program right away on your computer. If there is still a virus, or if a hacker has left something on your computer, the virus protection program will find it and destroy it. This might recover some of your files, because they might be just hidden by the virus, instead of completely deleted.

    • 2

Turn on a Spyware program, which will run on your computer all of the time, before you go any further. Sometimes, while you try to recover Eudora e-mail, spyware that was connected to the original problem will leak out and damage your computer.

    • 3

Go to the Eudora site listed in references. Click on "download the latest version," even if you already have Eudora on your computer. The download process should clear any errors out of your program and reinstall it correctly.

    • 4

Contact the Eudora technical support staff through the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page found in references if you are missing actual e-mails or address books or have other problems. If you explain to them why you have things missing, such as a virus or a hacker, they might be able to do something to recover your information. Each case is different, so you will not know what to do or how to do it until you contact Eudora.
