How to Hook Up a Sub to a Mono Amp

A mono amplifier is made for one sub-woofer to be connected to it. The wiring process is simple; the positive wires are connected to the positive input and output connections on the sub-woofer and amp and the negative wires are connected to the negative input and output connections on the sub-woofer and amp.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the length of speaker wire that will be needed to go from the sub-woofer to the amplifier. Cut the length needed with the wire cutters, splice the wire and remove 1/4 of an inch of the plastic wire cover from each end of the speaker wire using wire strippers.

    • 2

Connect the speaker wire's positive and negative wires to the corresponding connections on the sub-woofer. Lead the speaker wire to the connections on the side of the amplifier.

    • 3

Insert the positive and negative wire to the corresponding connections on the side of the amplifier and tighten the securing screws using the screw driver.
