Virago Seat Removal
by Andrea WalkThe Virago is a motorcycle that was produced by Yamaha from the early 1980s until 2007. The Virago's claim to fame is that it was the first motorcycle with a V-twin powered engine. It was also one of the first bikes with mono-shock suspension. The Yamaha Virago came equipped with a stock seat. However, Virago owners can customize their motorcycles by buying and installing new seats after removing their old ones. It takes around 15 minutes to remove a Virago seat.
Step 1
Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws holding both the battery box cover on the right-hand side and the left box cover on the left. Both are located in front the seat on either side. Set the screws aside and remove the both covers.
Step 2
Use and Allen wrench to remove the hex nut at the top left corner of the tool box and then remove the tool box.
Step 3
Use a wrench to remove the negative and positive battery cables and lift the battery out of the battery box.
Step 4
Use the Allen wrench hex nut on the top left hand side inside the battery box and then remove the battery box
Step 5
Slide the Virago's seat forward and then pull it straight up and off.
