Things You'll Need

  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Baking soda
  • Rag or paper towels
  • Spray bottle
  • Washing machine
  • Cold water detergent

      Fill a spray bottle with one part vinegar to three parts water. Spray this solution on the the coffee stain and use a rag or paper towels to blot up as much as possible. Continue to spray and blot until your rag comes away clean.

      Sprinkle baking soda on the remaining stain and spray again with vinegar solution. Allow to sit for five minutes, then gently rub the fabric together against the stain.

      Fill the washing machine basin with cold water, adding cold water detergent. Add the garment and leave the washing machine lid open to allow for soaking.

      Let the garment soak for one hour, check that the stain has been lifted. If necessary, allow to soak longer. When the stain is gone, finish the wash cycle and dry as directed by the garment's label.
