How to Reset the Samsung Direct TV HDTV Tuner

Resetting a Direct TV tuner may fix many small issues.

Samsung DirectTV receivers can process signals from an antenna, cable or DirectTV satellite. When you are using a Samsung DirectTV receiver, there may come a time when you need to reset the device because of a software glitch. While some DirectTV receivers have a reset button under the card door, the Samsung models do not have that button and use a different method to reset them.

Instructions

1. Check to make sure that the Samsung DirectTV HDTV receiver box is turned on.

2. Unplug the Samsung receiver from the outlet. All of the lights on the front of the receiver should turn off.

3. Wait for 15 seconds.

4. Plug the Samsung DirectTV receiver's power cord back into the electrical outlet.

5. Wait several seconds for the receiver to power up and then continue your normal viewing.
