How to Add Missing Information To a Song on Zune Software thumbnail
Zune users utilize the Zune Software to manage their music collections.

The Zune Software is the equivalent of Apple's iTunes software for iPod users. With it, a Zune user can manage her music collection, upload songs to the Zune portable audio player and purchase new music from the Zune marketplace. If you have imported your music collection into the Zune Software, you may find that some songs are not displayed correctly because some information was not entered at the time that they were created. Use the Zune Software to add missing information or correct tags in songs that were improperly entered.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch the Zune Software and click the "Collection" link at the top of the screen.

    • 2

Make sure that the "Music" tab is selected at the top of the screen, then use the "Artists," "Genres," "Albums," "Songs" or "Playlists" links below to locate the song that you need to change.

    • 3

Right-click the song that information is missing from, and click "Edit." A new window will open with "Edit Song Info" in the title.

    • 4

Use the fields to enter any missing or incorrect information in the song tags. The Zune Software provides spaces for you to edit the song title, artist, composer, album title, album artist, genre, conductor, year, disc number and track number.

    • 5

Click "OK" to update the tags in the song when you are finished.

Tips & Warnings

  • To edit multiple songs simultaneously, hold the "Ctrl" key while clicking songs until all of the songs you want to edit are highlighted. Right-click any of the highlighted songs and click "Edit." A new window will open, asking you to confirm that you want to change the information for multiple songs. Click "OK."
