Crochet Instructions for Kippot

The yarmulke or kippah is a head covering worn by observant Jews acknowledging an awareness of Someone always above us. The kippah stands to represent our humility before God. (Kippot is plural for kippah.) While you can order or buy a kippah, taking the time to buy the materials and crochet one makes this head covering much more personal and designed for someone special--your husband or your sons, father or brothers. Even if the kippah you make has small mistakes in it, this makes it individual to the person you made it for.

Make two sc in the first sc, then one sc in the next two sc and continue in this pattern to the end for round four. You should have 24 sc.

    • 5

Crochet two sc in the first sc, then one sc in the next sc. Continue in this pattern through the end of round five. You should have 30 sc.

    • 6
