How to Set up Multiple Monitors in Ubuntu
Attaching more than one monitor to your computer allows you to extend your work space across multiple screens. It can also be used to display the same information on two different screens. Linux Ubuntu users can set up multiple monitors through the Display Preferences utility. This utility can be used to detect new monitors, determine how the monitors should be arranged and mirror the monitors, if desired.

VGA cables are used to send video information between your monitor and your computer. Attach the monitors to your computer by plugging the VGA cable of each monitor into the computer's open VGA ports. A VGA port will have a section with 15 holes that correspond to the 15 pins on the VGA cable. Secure the cable to the computer using the thumb screws.
