How to Make Homemade Talismans

A talisman may give its bearer special powers to control elements of his environment. The website Talisman Magick claims that a person's life force keeps his talisman energized. Types of talismans include, but are not limited to, cards marked with different specific characters.

Things You'll Need

• Sheet of unlined paper or parchment
• Ruler
• Candle
• Pen or pencil

Instructions

1. 

   Visualize candle flame as Divine Light.

   Cleanse the energies of your work materials. Project the idea of cleansing energies into the paper, ruler, pen and any other materials. Light the candle and focus on the flame as Divine Light.

2. 

   Write specific letters into a SATOR AREPO talisman.

   Make a SATOR AREPO talisman to deflect attacks and attract love. Draw a square on the paper. Divide the square into five squares across and five squares down. Write S-A-T-O-R in the top row of squares. Then write A-R-E-P-O in the second row across. In the third row, write T-E-N-E-T, O-P-E-R-A in the fourth row, and R-O-T-A-S in the bottom row.

3. 

   Saturn planetary energy promotes concentration.

   Make a Saturn planetary talisman card to promote concentration and magical power. Draw a square with three squares across and three squares down. Talisman Magick provides Saturn's planetary square numbers. Enter numbers 4, 9 and 2 across the first row. Write 3, 5 and 7 in the second row and 8, 1 and 6 in the bottom row. Use a violet pen or pencil to incorporate Saturn's color into your talisman. Saturn's metal, lead, is toxic. Talisman Magick suggests drawing a circle around the card with a lead pencil to gain lead's magical effect.

4. Consecrate your talisman before wearing or carrying it. Talisman Magick recommends visualizing tracing each line with mental energy. Continue until you feel you have energized the talisman. Carry the talisman with you.

Tips & Warnings

• If you do not have the metals or gemstones for planetary talismans, the website Renaissance Astrology recommends parchment or plain paper. Gemstones and metal hold the talisman's energy longer.
