How to Kill Red & Black Ants Naturally
Most people associate ant problems with dirty, unkempt homes or consider them a just summertime nuisance. But ant issues occur in even the most clean homes. Things You'll Need
- Spray bottle
- Liquid dish soap
- 8-quart pot
- Oven mits
- Cornmeal
- Chalk
- Caulk
- Caulk gun
Instructions

Liquid Dish Soap

Fill an empty spray bottle with water and several ounces of liquid dish soap.

Shake the bottle vigorously and locate where the ants enter your home.

Spray the solution inside this hole, and spray down the trail the ants made from the mound to your home. The soap will deter the ants from following the trail and entering your home.

Spray this solution directly onto the ants inside the home to kill them on contact.
Boiling Water

Fill an 8-quart pot full of water. Place the water onto the stove and allow it boil.

Pick up the still boiling pot with both hands, using pot holders.

Slowly and carefully pour the boiling water directly into the ant mound. This will kill any ants inside, before they have a chance to enter your home.
Other Remedies

Sprinkle cornmeal in the areas the ants frequent, including the edges of the sink, near open food containers and by the window sill. Once digested, this hearty grain proves too over powering and the ants will die.

Draw a chalk line down the inner windowsill of the home, especially on windows that face a large tree as ants will make a home inside this tree. The ants will be deterred by this line and keep away from the home.

Seal any holes near the window with caulk.
