Win2K must have the Ethernet port properly set up before use.

DSL is designed to offer broadband Internet access to individuals over the same phone line they make calls over. However, not every computer is capable of hooking up to DSL right out of the gate. Windows 2000, in particular, needs to have its Ethernet port prepared to accept the new Internet connection before it can be used.
