How to Use Pick Locks in Dungeon Lords

Many doors deep in the dungeons must be picked to continue.

The "Dungeon Lords" video game from DreamCatcher Games allows players to take on the role of one of the iconic fantasy classes and adventure through the underground caverns in search of treasure and fame. One of the game's primary classes, the thief, relies heavily on stealth and agility to accomplish her goals and possesses the ability to pick locks in the game. Lock picking works differently in Dungeon Lords than in many games, becoming a separate mini-game.

Instructions

1. Click the "Pick Lock / Disarm" button at the locked door or container. The menu for picking locks will pop up.

2. Select your lock picks or other tools if your character has them. These increase your skill, making the mini-game far easier by slowing the appearance of icons.

3. Choose the "Start" option to begin the game. A new screen will start, showing a series of icons.

4. Click the icons as they flash. Each icon is different and lock picking requires clicking each highlighted icon as fast as possible.

5. Open the object or door once you successfully pass the lock picking challenge.

Tips & Warnings

• Click the "Cancel" button on the lock picking mini-game in order to get a second shot at the lock. Otherwise, the lock may jam and prevent further attempts.
